I LOVE CURRICULUM

Previously, I was not fully understand what is curriculum? its importance? and its benefits? Previously, I said that it seemed just a dead documents tied together with words imprinted on them. Day by day, week by week, curriculum started to grow inside of me and I'm starting to get the gist of this subject. Assignment by assignment that I have completed let me see the content of curriculum. Curriculum that previously are complex and complicated to me, now, they are a system or a process that I have fully understand. Hopefully😌

MY ANALOGY EPISODE

If I were to give curriculum an analogy, I would say that:



If previously, my poster said that 'curriculum is the weapon in education'.
"If education is the battlefield, curriculum is its weapon to win the battlefield."
and
"if curriculum is the weapon, teachers themselves are the strategist"


After learning the subject for almost 3 months, I want to coined another analogy🙊
'Curriculum is the nucleus of education'

In an organism, cell is the basic unit of living things. cell is so much needed in living things. Those who did not have cell are dead and non-living. Inside the cell, nucleus, control all the activities of the cell. In addition, it also hold the genetic information which consist of gene and DNA that made the characteristics of the organism. 

Curriculum teaches a teacher on how to understand the curriculum, how to do task analysis, how to plan the lesson, what are the strategies to be used during the teaching session and how to attract students to listen. That is why if education is the cell, curriculum is its nucleus that control all the activities in education.

MY LETTER TO YOU 

In the past three months, I have learnt a very hard and difficult subject. As a person who majored in Biology and never was taught on the learning theory and the education-termed subject. At the first three class, curriculum is very vague to me, Eventhough, Dr. Dorothy has explain everything very clearly, my mind seem rejected all those information. Unable to digest the ISD and ID. Unable to understand the task analysis. These all are too hard for me. 

However, the starting point was the 'create a task analysis on how to teach a group of 5 years old students on how to cook rice' really opened up my eyes and my mind. The neurons inside it are starting to send understand impulse and I started to understand bit by bit. Through Dr. Dorothy's discussion on the next class, I have clearly understand the task analysis. After this assignment, my mind has begin to accept the curriculum terms and able to digest and interpret almost everything in the syllabus.

Assignments and task that Dr. Dorothy asked me to do and complete are very beneficial. Dr. Dorothy's effort on trying to make us understand the curriculum is the main factor that enable my mind, body and limbs to work all out for this subject. Thankyou Dr. Dorothy. you are truly a very good and perfect lecturer.
